Rihanna Hits Back At Snapchat After It Posted A Stupid Ad

A recent ad in Snapchat asked people whether they would slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown, as expected it has not gone down pretty well with Rihanna, who lashed out at Snapchat and said that the company was ‘bringing shame to domestic violence victims’.

Though, the ad was removed, it couldn’t escape from the severe backlash from people, with many telling they would be deleting the app.

The singer took her time to reach and wrote on Instagram: “Now SNAPCHAT I know you already know you ain’t my fav app out there!

“But I’m just trying to figure out what the point was with this mess!

“I’d love to call it ignorance, but I know you ain’t that dumb!

“You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to [domestic violence] victims and made a joke of it!!!”

She went on to say that she was least bothered about her own feelings, but that the ad could have made other survivors of domestic violence feel ‘let down’.

Posting: “This isn’t about my personal feelings, cause I don’t have much of them…but all the women, children and men that have been victims of [domestic violence] in the past and especially the ones who haven’t made it out yet…you let us down!

“Shame on you! Throw the whole app-oligy away.”

The ad was a dig at the relationship of Rihanna with rapper Chris Brown, which ended in 2009 after he assaulted her in his car.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Snapchat told the poll went out ‘in error’ and was immediately removed.

The spokesperson said: “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware.

“We are sorry that this happened.”

Dozens of fans, including celebrities, have since Tweeted in support of Rihanna saying they will be deleting the app:

Guess, Snapchat has learnt an expensive lesson with their ‘error’.
